We arrived in beautiful Kiama at Easter 2009. I am married to Nicki and we are blessed by Oscar (born 1998).

Study background and life experience includes working in youth refuges, advocating for fractured families, social work in hospitals, counseling in school settings and teaching in High Schools. ).

Study in Social Work, Education and Theology have shaped my thinking along the way.

I was raised in the Catholic and Greek Orthodox faiths; hence I became an Anglican Minister. I understand faith to be a journey and love taking that journey with others. I thrive on the joy of relationships that we all share in knowing Jesus. It really excites me to see people grow on their journey with Jesus.

In leading God's people here I see my responsibility as enabling people to journey with Jesus through the different possibilities before us, of serving one another within and beyond our Church. I pray that we will serve this wonderful community in which we live, practicing living out and loving as Jesus has shown to us. I am passionate about teaching the Bible and listening and responding to the Holy Spirit leading and guiding our lives as God's family journeying together.

I hope you will feel welcome to come and journey with us together.

Hi, my name is Michael Wells. In the eighties I was born and raised in the lovely Blue Mountains and became a follower
of Jesus at the local Baptist church.

In the nineties I flipped burgers, grew a mohawk and grew in faith with my friends at an Anglican church.

In the noughties I studied theatre and theology, worked as a stiltwalker and student minister, bought a cafe and married my beautiful wife Rosa.

Now (in the teens?) I'm an assistant minister here in Kiama.  My main responsibilities here are pastoring the 6pm congregation and exploring opportunities for the church to love the Kiama community. I'm convinced that Jesus doesn't belong to one kind of people, but that God calls people from all ages and walks of life to belong to him.

If you have questions about the christian faith, I'm hard to shock and even harder to offend, and would love to talk with you."

I grew up in a small country town called Young with my Mum Christine, my Dad Neil, my older brother Graham, my Sister Deb as well as a beautiful black kelpie called Ralph. While growing up in Young I developed a great love of sport particularly Rugby League and a great love for God given to me by the local Baptist church, which was always faithful in teaching the good news of Jesus and always loved and cared for me as I grew.

One of the great joys of the job that I do is in showing young people the love of God that has been shown to me both through the people of God and through Jesus death on the cross. I love having so many chances each week to teach young people from the bible. I love seeing God change young people’s lives in such amazing ways at such an important time in their lives and I love seeing young people mature into faithful young Christian men and women.

My role of Youth Minister gives me the great opportunities to run a Kid's Club and a Youth Club on Friday afternoons as well as midweek bible studies. I also get the great opportunity to teach school scripture and help out with the 10am and 6pm Sunday church services.

I’m Neil Matheson, married to Lynette (1965) and we retired to Kiama late in 2002.

We have 3 adult children and 4 grandchildren. I reached the magic 70 in August 2010. While entering the Anglican ministry in 1965, I spent the last 40 years of my working life in the commercial world.

Apart from church and family, my other interests include being on the Kiama Board of a group of Churches that support a full-time teacher in the local high school. I'm also a member of a local Probus club. (Currently Treasurer of both). I have always been interested in sport and in our Kiama years I have become a regular at golf. Always room for improvement!

My role at Church is to help out in leading some Sunday services fairly regularly, preaching from time to time and helping out with other occasional services and visiting as needed.

It is a privilege and most rewarding to be able to share in ministry and to see our church growing both in maturity and numbers.

My name is Deb Baker and I am the Children and Families Ministry Worker at Kiama Anglican. I am a country girl at heart. I grew up in Mudgee but now live in beautiful Kiama with my husband Greg, and three children, Isaac, Elise and Ben. I am an Early Childhood Teacher who has a passion for early childhood education and the Bible. Praise to God I am now involved in both these areas.

My passion in this ministry is to see all children become followers of Christ and to see families strengthened, supported and empowered in their day-to-day family life and in their role in guiding their children to be followers of Christ.
